Campus

The Jordan River Village encompasses 60 acres (245 dunams) in the Lower Galilee, high above the Sea of Galilee, within sight of Mount Tabor and the Horns of Hittim and three kilometers from the Golani Junction. It is secluded, has a comfortable climate for almost the entire year, and is located within close proximity to hospitals that may be needed in case of an emergency.

The Village, designed by architect Joram Barr, encompasses the following facilities that will enable our campers to enjoy a full range of activities:

Arts & Crafts Center
Our art & crafts center will include pottery, woodwork, arts & crafts and jewelry making studios.

Sports & Swimming Facilities – Our indoor gymnasium will provide an endless assortment of sports equipment enabling our campers to participate in basketball, gymnastics and other popular games.

The swimming pool is heated as well as wheelchair accessible, enabling our children to experience the full range of possibilities – no matter their physical conditions.

Performing Arts Center
Our state-of-the-art theater enables our campers to put on full-scale "professional” productions in a 250 seat house. The theater includes costume and dressing rooms as well as a light box and full sound system.

Retreat Center
Unique to the Jordan River Village is our Retreat Center where our children will be able to take a break to work on computers, read a book, listen to music or experience our "Snoezelen” room. The Snoezelen Room provides a fun, recreational and multi-sensory, environment for people with disabilities that provides stimulation and relaxation through the use of smell, touch, sound, color, and light.

Dining Hall
Our Kosher dining hall is not just the place where our campers congregate at meals during mealtime. The dining hall, which seats 250 people, is the bedrock of camper development where they will engage in group-building activities and games. Additionally, in the Dining Hall building there is a Culinary Arts kitchen where our campers will cook together.

Medical Center
Our state-of-the-art medical facility is the "invisible cornerstone” of our campus giving our campers and parents the security to know that they are in good medical hands while they are enjoying "just being kids.” This facility will enable our campers to continue their routine treatments – whether they be on dialysis or chemotherapy- as well as handle medical issues that may arise while the camper is on campus. Our medical facility will be staffed 24/7 by doctors and nurses.

Cabins
Our wheelchair-accessible and climate-controlled cabins are the "home-away-from-home” where campers live together with round-the-clock supervision by staff members.

Equestrian Center
Our equestrian center will include ## horses and a riding rink where those children who are able will be able to pet and ride the horses.

Petting Zoo
Our petting zoo will be a special haven where children will go to take care of and play with a variety of small animals. Each of the animals are selected by important medical criteria to ensure the childrens' safety and well-being.

Adventure Park
The adventure park, the first of its kind in Israel that enables handicapped children to fully participate, will encompass a zip line, climbing wall, ropes and log activities. The park is specifically designed to create successful, fun experiences for each child

Camping Area
One of the highlights of the camper's week is when they will spend a "night under the stars” camping out in our camping area in a Bedouin tent. Fully equipped with a toilet area and campfire circle, this is an unforgettable experience.

Additional outdoor activities will include a miniature golf course, outdoor, life-size chess board and archery center.
